Go vote on Saturday

Saturday Voting will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Voter Registration Main Office, 1117 Eisenhower Drive, Suite E, Savannah.

Voters may participate in partisan races depending on which party’s ballot they choose. Voters of both parties can cast ballots in Savannah-Chatham school board and TSPLOST races.

State and local lawmakers to host T-SPLOST forum

Four Democratic state representatives from this area will host a town hall meeting Saturday to discuss the upcoming vote on the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The meeting will he held at Savannah Arts Academy, 500 Washington Ave., and feature state Reps. Mickey Stephens and Craig Gordon of Savannah, Rep. Bob Bryant of Garden City, and Sen. Lester Jackson of Savannah.

The town hall meeting will outline the pros and cons of the penny sales tax for transportation that will be voted on July 31.

Savannah District 6
alderman to host T-SPLOST meeting

Savannah’s District 6 Alderman Tony Thomas will host a town hall meeting Monday to discuss the upcoming vote on the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.

The 6 p.m. meeting at the Armstrong Center, at 13040 Abercorn St. on Armstrong Atlantic State University’s campus, is meant to inform citizens about and to hear their feedback concerning the penny sales tax for transportation projects in the area that will be voted on July 31.

Savannah aldermen have hosted town halls about TSPLOST in each district except for the 6th and the 1st. District 1 Alderman Van Johnson will host a town hall for his district at 6 p.m. July 25 at the Savannah Civic Center.
